Here’s to Rewinding to Good Health…And Exercise!

Day 6: Be Kind, Rewind

We all do stupid things once in a while, because we’re all human. If it was possible to hit the rewind button, is there something that happened this year, or a particularly awful day, that you would like to rewind and do over?

Back in August, my friends and I decided to do Insanity. Now for those of you who are unfamiliar with this particular workout program, it is 60 days of Max Interval Training with your personal trainer, Shaun T.

It is definitely called Insanity for a reason! After the second day, your body is so sore. But then you get used to it. By the second month, Shaun T has you doing things that are simply ridiculous.

My friends Jon and Edd did the program with me back in August. We would meet at my house, and do the workouts in my living room. We made it through the first month, went into recovery week and headed into the second month. And here is where I wish I could go back and rewind…

I stopped the program with only a week and a half to go.

Why, you may ask? Why would I subject myself to 50 days of Insanity and then just give up, so close to the finish line?

I wasn’t getting any results.

Yes, in spite of doing these insane workouts 6 days a week, I was not seeing the results on my body that they showed on the Insanity infomercials. I was getting discouraged that it just didn’t work for me.

But then again, I think the actual reason is because I wasn’t monitoring my eating. Just doing cardio isn’t enough – you need to actually eat the right kind of foods to go along with those insane workouts.

So if I could go back and rewind, I would finish the program. I would eat the right foods, and use the Insanity Elite Nutrition Guide to help me get there. And I would track my meals to make sure I’m staying within the right calorie count, every single day.

Since you can’t rewind life, I’m giving myself a second chance with this. I started Insanity again, on January 3rd, and I’m doing it right this time. I’m eating better, I’m working harder, and I am determined to finish. I owe it to myself.

Ain't that the truth!

Ain’t that the truth!
