One Word for 2011

DAY ONE – One word. Encapsulate 2011 in one word. Explain why you’re using that word.

What word describes 2011 for me? I would have to say renewal.

Why you ask?

On so many levels this year I worked hard to start fresh and anew.

Physically I knew that I needed to be healthier, so I started going to the gym, tried to cook more, eat healthier, and hit the jackpot when I found my love of ballroom dancing in August.

Mentally I kicked myself into high gear by starting my Ph.D. program. Though it wasn’t that much different from my master’s, I knew going in that there were higher expectations that I had to prepare myself mentally for.

Emotionally I’ve been working on strengthening my relationship with my significant other, Michael. As you may have read in my #reverb10 posts we went through a kind of rough patch. 2011 has been a year for us to get back on track and realize why we can’t live without one another.
