The Best Party of 2010

December 9 – Party. What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans.

I had to look back at my Facebook photos to decide, but I think the best social gathering I attended this past year was BY FAR the one I went to in October when I saw “The Legwarmers” perform at the State Theatre in Virginia. For those of you who are not familiar with this band, The Legwarmers are an AMAZING 80’s cover band that come to VA (and other cities) every month.

Not only did I get to dress up in fabulous 80’s style garb (and have people stare at me on the Metro the whole ride there) but I also got to dance and sing along with some amazing 80’s classics, including “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Billie Jean,” just to name a few. The band sounded spot on like the originals – it was totally amazing.

To disclose a little bit, I was fully intending to get my drink on at the venue, but I was honestly having so much fun dancing and singing along that I didn’t even have the desire to drink, let alone take the time to go to the bar and get a beer.

Not only was going to The Legwarmers the BEST party of 2010, but it was the BEST concert I have ever been to. Period.

Good news is that as previously mentioned they come to VA every month, so here’s hoping I go to a few shows in 2011!
