My Most Joyous Ordinary Moment? Jollibee please.

December 27 – Ordinary Joy. Our most profound joy is often experienced during ordinary moments. What was one of your most joyful ordinary moments this year?

Me and Peter in front of Jollibee!

One of my most joyful ordinary moments this year was when I went to Jollibee in Queens with my friends Peter and Cyrus.

At first glance it seems so ordinary – we’re just going to a fast food restaurant in NYC – but in actuality it is a huge deal. Jollibee is not just any fast food restaurant – it’s a Filipino fast food restaurant, equipped with spaghetti and hotdogs, milkfish, and chicken with rice.

I haven’t been to a Jollibee since I was in the the Philippines over 10 years ago, so when Peter told me that he discovered one in NYC I knew I had to go.

Going to Jollibee may have seemed ordinary, but it made me really happy – I got to share a part of my culture and past with two good friends while learning about NYC all that the same time. An epic win-win.
