December 28 – Achieve. What’s the thing you most want to achieve next year? How do you imagine you’ll feel when you get it? Free? Happy? Complete? Blissful? Write that feeling down. Then, brainstorm 10 things you can do, or 10 new thoughts you can think, in order to experience that feeling today.
I should have looked ahead to the prompts because it seems I have already answered this one in a previous post. You can reread that post, with my 11 steps of action, here.
What do I want to achieve most this next year? A publication in the Journal of Public Relations Research.
How will I feel if I get it? Accomplished. Credible. That I’m meant to do this. That I can be known as a good scholar. That I can make my department and advisor proud. That I can make a name for myself. That I can go to an Research 1 institution if I really wanted to.
What are 10 new thoughts to get me there?
- You are intelligent
- You are knowledgeable about your field
- You produce research worthy of publishing
- You are a good writer
- You are allowed to ask for help
- You can contribute to the field
- You have plenty of time
- You are ahead of the game
- You will make a name for yourself
- You are a good scholar
